Truecaller is used by millions worldwide to identify unknown callers. Even if you’ve never installed Truecaller, your name and number may still be inside their database.
Why?
Because Truecaller collects contact info from users’ phone address books. So if someone saved your number in their contacts, that data may reach Truecaller.
Why You Might Want to Remove Your Number
Truecaller not only shows:
-
Name
-
Phone number
But sometimes also:
-
Address (in case of landline numbers)
This information may come from:
-
Public telephone records
-
Phone directories
-
Old registered landline details
So even if you don’t use Truecaller, your details may still appear.
If you want privacy, you may choose to remove (unlist) your number from their system.
Important Note
If you currently use Truecaller:
You cannot delete your number without first deactivating your Truecaller account.
